What Happened – Allegation regarding XUPD use of force [Closed and resolved]

On Wednesday, April 10, 2019, The Dean of Students office received a report from a student alleging that XUPD engaged in bias-motivated use of force during a recent interaction.  The report was forwarded to University officials for further investigation.  BART and the Dean of Students Office facilitated outreach and support to the involved student.

What Happened? – LGBTQ bias statements [Closed and resolved]

The Dean of Students office received multiple reports from students alleging that a faculty member made statements that were perceived to be anti-LGBTQ and homophobic in nature during multiple class sessions. The reports were forwarded to the appropriate Academic Dean’s office and Human Resources for further investigation.  BART facilitated outreach and support to the involved students.

What Happened? – Racially biased language in roommate dispute [Closed and resolved]

The Dean of Students office received a report of a roommate conflict between two residents in which racially biased language was expressed.  Residence Life coordinated an investigation and response with all residents.

What Happened?  - Vandalism to bulletin board offering support resources to LGBTQ+ students [Closed pending new information]

The Dean of Students office received a report of vandalism to a bulletin board in Justice Hall.  The bulletin board contained materials in support of LGBTQ+ Safe Spaces.  The parts of the bulletin board that were ripped off were terms about sexual identity, genderqueer and other LGBTQ+ centered terms.  The Dean of Students Office and the Office of Residence Life investigated the matter and were not able to identify the person responsible for the vandalism.  Anyone who may possess additional information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Dean of Students office.
