Dean of Students Office

Incidents of bias are impactful to our campus community. Students are encouraged to seek support from a number of campus resources

In circumstances in which a Xavier student is alleged to have engaged in bias motivated behavior, the matter is referred to the Dean of Students office for investigation and follow-up through the student conduct process.  Xavier has established benchmark sanctions that provide guidance for student conduct outcomes when students are found responsible for bias incidents.  In the past five years, students who have been found responsible for bias motivated behavior have received a range of student conduct sanctions, with the most frequent outcomes including Removal from University Housing, University Probation and Educational Sanctions.  While federal privacy laws prohibit the release of student conduct records, students who have questions about the student conduct process are welcome to contact Xavier’s Dean of Students, Jean Griffin at griffinj6@xavier.edu

By clicking any of the links below, you will find a brief summary of reported incidents that meet Xavier’s definition of bias. Information is available by semester dating back to Fall 2016. Each summary provides a brief description of incident, how BART responded and whether BART's response is ongoing or has concluded.
