Seoul Summer Program

The Seoul Summer Program offers students the opportunity to study in one of Asia’s leading global business centers while experiencing Korea’s rich culture. Students spend four weeks in Seoul, South Korea, and earn six credit hours toward their business degree.

Students take classes at Sogang University, a prestigious Jesuit institution located in the heart of Seoul. Courses focus on international business and intercultural learning, and the program includes company visits, cultural excursions, and opportunities to engage with Korean and other international students.

Program Details

  • Location: Seoul, South Korea
  • Dates: Summer (End of June – End of July)
  • Spend four weeks in Korea
  • Monday–Thursday classes (depending on class schedule)
  • Extended weekends for field trips and travel
  • Travel with Xavier faculty and students
  • Gain international business and intercultural experience

Academic Information

  • Students take two courses for a total of six credit hours:
    • ECON 300 – International Trade and Business Environment (3 credit hours)
    • One elective course offered by Sogang University (3 credit hours)

  • Grades and credits transfer back to Xavier University

Buddy Program

To help students adjust to life in Seoul and build meaningful cross-cultural friendships, each Xavier participant is paired with a Sogang University student “buddy.” Buddies assist with campus life, local transportation, and cultural adjustment while also sharing insights about Korean culture and student life. Many students describe the Buddy Program as one of the most rewarding parts of their experience, offering genuine connections and opportunities to explore Seoul through the eyes of local students.

Program Costs

  • 6-hour Summer Class Tuition
  • Program Fee: $750 (in 2025)
    • Program fees cover:
      • Housing at Sogang University dormitory (double occupancy)
      • Airport transfer from Incheon International Airport
      • Seoul city public transportation card ($100 worth)
      • Program fees and insurance
      • Field trips, Seoul city tour, and cultural excursions
      • Company visits
      • Not included: airfare, meals, and personal travel expenses
