Int'l Bus Assoc (XIBA)

Have you declared an International Business major or minor? Are you currently studying another major, but think globally?

The XIBA was formed in 2008 by a small group of students and it has flourished into an active university club over the past few years. We focus on providing club members with ample opportunities to branch out into global commerce, strengthening ties between our club and the business community. We have hosted guest speakers, have study abroad Q&A sessions, have planned numerous cultural dinners, and are active members of both the European American Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

The mission of our organization is to foster an international perspective in students of business, to help develop an understanding of commerce in a global setting, and to encourage intercultural engagement in all members. We aim to interact with the community around us in a positive way to both better our neighbors and learn ourselves.

Marketing Club

All marketing majors are encouraged to join Xavier's Marketing Club, which is associated with the American Marketing Association. The club seeks to offer marketing majors and other students the opportunity to gain a broader, realistic, more practically oriented exposure to marketing activities. These experiences enhance and augment the material being presented in the classroom. The Marketing Club strives to improve each member's marketability in today's highly competitive job market.

The Marketing Club attempts to provide career guidance via distinguished guest speakers, on-the-job shadow programs, and by functioning as a personal career-oriented liaison between club members and the marketing faculty, department chairs, and the dean of the Williams College of Business. Further, the Marketing Club serves as a two-way conduit of information existing between its members and the local, regional, and national chapters of the American Marketing Association. This type of communication alerts club members to the realities and importance of "networking" and helps them begin to develop their skills in this area.
