Minor in Gender and Diversity Studies

Xavier University’s Adult and Professional Education Program (APEX) is now offering a new curriculum option: a minor in Gender and Diversity Studies (GDST). The GDST minor is an 18 credit hour program that will prepare students to engage effectively within an increasingly diverse and dynamic workplace environment. Students will learn about the impact of diversity and discrimination on individual experiences and environments, enabling them to be more effective leaders and peers in a variety of circumstances.

The course options will vary by semester and will include courses similar to the following:

  • Intro to Gender and Diversity Studies (required)
  • History - The Age of Big Business: 1869-1912
  • History - LatinX History
  • Education - Understanding and Leading Across Differences
Note: Students must take courses in at least three different disciplines and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA in courses for the minor. Half of the credit hours completed must be in courses at the 200-level or above.
