Accessibility and Disability Resources

Housing Accommodations

Xavier University recognizes that students with disabilities may have housing needs related to the impact of a disability or disabilities. Therefore a variety of living options are available to students including traditional, suite-style, and private bedrooms. It is the responsibility of the student requesting a housing accommodation to make any housing needs known to Accessibility and Disability Resources well in advance of the beginning of the semester in which on campus housing is requested.

To be considered for a housing accommodation, students must meet with Accessibility and Disability Resources. Information on the process for requesting accommodations.

Accessibility and Disability Resources requires supporting documentation from an appropriately licensed professional that describes how a housing accommodation supports your medical or disability needs. Information explaining documentation guidelines.

Please be aware that a diagnosis of a disorder/condition/syndrome condition in and of itself does not automatically qualify a student for a housing accommodation. Once the paperwork is submitted, an accommodation planning appointment will be scheduled.

As part of the process, the Housing Accommodation Request Form must be submitted by the stated deadline:

  • Friday, February 9, 2024 for first year students/rising sophomores
  • Monday, June 3, 2024 for incoming first year students

Please plan ahead to allow enough time to complete the process by the stated deadlines as failure to do so may result in the request not being processed.

For any questions or concerns, contact the Office of Accessibility and Disability Resources at disabilityservices@xavier.edu or 513.745.3280.
