Assistive Technology

Assistive Technology can be broadly defined as:

Any item, piece of equipment, [software program,] or product system, whether acquired commercially, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities. (U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Section 508)

Students registered with the Office of Accessibility and Disability Resources (ADR) may receive a referral for an Assistive Technology appointment. In the appointment, various assistive technology options may be explored to allow better access to Xavier.

To discuss assistive technology needs, please schedule an appointment with the Assistive Technology Coordinator at 513-745-3280 or disabilityservices@xavier.edu.
