Details regarding the primary and secondary application processes for the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) program are listed below.

Primary Applications

The primary application is the first, centralized application you submit to provide your academic background, experiences, and personal statement.

Secondary Applications

After we receive and review your primary application, we may invite you to complete a secondary application that allows us to learn more about your fit for the D.O. program. 

  • Qualified applicants will be invited to complete an online secondary application and will be notified via email.
  • Supplemental application fee ($50) is non-refundable and must be paid before review can begin
  • If a candidate meets all these requirements, they qualify to complete a secondary application
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent resident
    • 2 or more letters of recommendation with letterhead/signature
    • Undergraduate cumulative GPA 2.8 or above
    • Consideration of graduate courses and degrees
    • Consideration of GPA trend
    • Consideration of depth and breadth of Clinical experiences with Osteopathic Physicians
  • Once XUCOM receives the secondary application, application fee or waiver, correct letters of recommendation, the candidates file is considered completed and will be evaluated for an interview invitation.
  • The final date to submit a secondary application is May 1st year of matriculation.
  • XUCOM will waive secondary application fees for Xavier Alumni and those who qualify for an AMCAS or AACOMAS fee waiver.
  • Fee waiver qualifications will be verified through the admissions office at medadmissions@xavier.edu

International Applicants

Xavier University is not currently accepting international applications for the D.O. program.
