Early Assurance for Xavier Undergraduate Students
Secure conditional acceptance to the Xavier University College of Medicine (XUCOM) Osteopathic Medicine, D.O. program as early as your sophomore year. Start building your future as a physician through a streamlined pathway designed for current Xavier undergraduate students.
- When: Join the Pre-Professional Health Advising program the end of freshman year to qualify
- Open to all Xavier undergrads in any major
- Apply through the PPHAP Canvas site
- When: January- February of Sophomore year
- Self-identify through the PPHAP Canvas site in January. You'll need to meet all the requirements below before your interview in May.
- Minimum GPA: 3.5 cumulative
- Grade floor: B- in all prerequisites
- Credit type: Institutional (AP credit allowed for Gen Chem 1 & 2 only)
- Advisor sign-off: Pre-health advisor confirmation
- Required prerequisite courses
- General Biology 1 & 2
- General Chemistry 1 & 2
- Organic Chemistry 1 & 2
- Genetics/ Human Physiology or Physics 1 & 2
- When: May of Sophomore year
- Selected students complete an in-person interview. Strong candidates receive a conditional (provisional) acceptance to the DO program.
- When: Junior/Senior Years
- Keep up your cumulative GPA above 3.5 and finish the required coursework. You'll be reviewed at the end of each spring semester to confirm continued eligibility.

- Microbiology + Immunology
- Physiology + Pharmacology 1 & 2
- Choose one advanced course pair for your junior year:
- You'll also need a Health Professions Committee (HPC) letter with a “Recommend” or above and completion of required BMSC courses.
- A score of 500 or above is required, with a maximum of two attempts. This is the final checkpoint for formal admission into the DO program.
Xavier alumni and current students who meet all prerequisites, hold a 3.5 GPA, and score 500+ on the MCAT are still guaranteed for an interview with XUCOM with priority scheduling earlier in the admissions cycle.
