Understanding Osteopathic Medicine: The D.O. Path

If you are exploring medical school, you've likely seen the initials M.D. (Allopathic) and D.O. (Osteopathic). While both pathways produce fully licensed physicians, Osteopathic medicine is defined by a "whole-person" approach. Rather than just treating symptoms, D.O.s are trained to look at the patient as a unified whole - mind, body and spirit.
