Osteopathic Medicine, D.O. Admission
The ideal candidate for Xavier's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) program is a well-rounded, mission-driven individual who demonstrates strong academic preparation, a commitment to service, and a genuine passion for osteopathic medicine.
Successful applicants typically demonstrate:
- A minimum GPA of 3.5, including a science GPA of 3.5 or higher, along with an MCAT score of 500 or above. NOTE: Competitive candidates also demonstrate strength in foundational science competencies, particularly with CPBS and BBFL subsection scores of 125 or higher.
- A commitment to meaningful engagement in clinical, volunteer and service-oriented experiences, especially for underserved and rural populations
- An understanding of and interest in Osteopathic Principles
- An ideal XUCOM candidate is academically prepared, service-oriented and deeply aligned with the school’s mission; someone who is not only ready to succeed in medical school, but also committed to becoming a compassionate, impactful physician leader.
