Electronic Music (MUSC 127)
This course introduces the hardware and software used in electronic music production, emphasizing music sequencing, digital recording and mixing techniques. Students will learn the fundamentals of creating, editing and arranging electronic music.
Audio Production (DIFT 340)
This course delves into the technical and theoretical foundations of audio production. Students will explore various aspects including digital sound editing, the integration of special effects, commercial production techniques, and documentary production principles. Through hands-on lab sessions, participants will gain practical experience applying these concepts in real-world scenarios.
Studio Production (MUSC 342)
Students assume the role of sound engineer in all areas of professional audio: acoustics, microphone techniques, analog and digital signal flow, using computers, recording (mono, stereo, and multi-track), studio policies, and working with a clientele. Focused on hands-on learning in the studio and in live sound environments.
Internship (MUSC 405)
Students spend 8-10 hours per week teaching high school students how to use the tools of music production at the Music Resource Center studio.
A caBellas
These singers are a close-knit group of students who love performing a cappella music on and off campus. They sing a variety of songs ranging from old classics to pop music.
All-Inclusive Dance Club
This club is perfect for those looking for a casual environment to move creatively and learn or practice basic combinations or dance practices. XUDC practices all styles of dance including contemporary, ballet, jazz, tap, folk, and we are open to more.
Harmon-X
Harmon-X is an a cappella group who's mission is to bring high-quality music to campus and beyond. Members practice three times a week for performances on campus and within the Cincinnati community.
Hip Hop Collective
The Hip Hop Collective is a club dedicated to promoting cultural awareness of Hip Hop by educating members on its fundamental elements and rich historical foundation. We represent a social gathering of individuals dedicated to the pursuit and creative expression of this artform.
Don't Tell Anna
Don't Tell Anna (DTA) is an improvisational comedy group of Xavier University students that aim to provide quality entertainment to both on-campus and off campus audiences. At Xavier, DTA performs in shows that provide a free, late-night alternative to students looking to have fun and enjoy themselves on-campus.
Program Features

Music Production Program at Xavier University
Xavier’s Music Production program combines traditional music learning (theory, history, and musicianship) with courses in technology that teach students to create, record, and process music for today’s digital environment.
