Theatre Minor
Home to a passionate and talented group of students, faculty, staff and theatre professionals, Xavier University's Theatre program creates practical experiences and professional collaborations within its Theatre and Musical Theatre degrees. With a fundamental focus on offering student opportunities, Xavier Theatre offers a dynamic and diverse production season of musicals, dramas and comedies, working with some of the most outstanding directors and designers across the country.
The Theatre minor combines academic training with hands-on experience in a well-rounded program that encourages experience in all areas of theatre. No audition or interview is required to declare a Theatre minor.
Theatre Minor Requirements:
19 total credit hours are required, as follows:
Foundational Theatre Courses, 12 credit hours:
- THTR 100 - Introduction to the Theatre
- THTR 120 - Acting I
- THTR 150 - Stagecraft
- THTR 211 - Script Analysis
Practical Theatre Experiences (Choose 1 of 2 pathways), 4 credit hours:
- Take 4 credits of THTR 198 (Theatre Technology Workshop) or THTR 199 (Theatre Performance Workshop)
OR
- Take 1 credit of THTR 198 or THTR 199 and another 3-credit THTR course
General Theatre Elective, 3 credit hours:
- Choose one other 200 or above level theatre course (3)

- A 2.000 cumulative average must be attained in these courses.
