State of Ohio Scholarships and Grants

Ohio War Orphan Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for students with a parent who served at least 90 days of active duty during wartime and is disabled or deceased as a result of service. Applications are available from high school guidance counselors or veterans offices. Students must be Ohio residents, attend full-time, and achieve a 2.0 GPA or higher. The deadline to apply is July 1 of each year.

Ohio College Opportunity Grant

The OCOG is a need based grant from the state of Ohio to assist resident undergraduate students from low- and moderate-income families. Awards are based on family income with consideration given to the number of dependents in the family. Application is made when residents complete the federal Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The grant is given to part-time and full-time students.

Austin E. Knowlton Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship supports students from Ohio who have declared a major in a STEM field, with preference given to students admitted into the Data Science Honors program. There is no separate application process.  All candidates who meet the criteria will be considered. More information
