Alumni Scholarships
The application deadline for Fall 2024 Competitive Scholarships has passed. However, we encourage you to pursue other opportunities such as private scholarships and alternative grants.
Test scores are not required for scholarship consideration. Financial need may be considered as part of scholarship selection.
Edgecliff Alumni Awards
The Edgecliff Scholars Award provides scholarships to incoming first-year and transfer students who have been accepted for admission to Xavier University and are Edgecliff alumni relatives (children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren). Scholarship amounts vary from year to year. Selection is made by the Edgecliff Scholars Committee in conjunction with the Office of Alumni and the Office of Student Financial Services. The scholarship award is renewable for up to four years so long as the student stays in good academic standing with the University.
All eligible students will automatically be considered for the Edgecliff Scholarship.
James E. Hoff, S.J. Scholar
An additional scholarship award may be given to an Edgecliff Scholars applicant each year. The applicant must demonstrate exceptional leadership, vision, courage, service, and compassion in his or her academic and personal life. The amount of the award varies and is in addition to a student’s Edgecliff Scholars award. The James E. Hoff, S.J. Scholar Award is awarded at the discretion of the Edgecliff Scholars Committee based on essay submissions for this award.
Indiana Resident Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Xavier University Alumni residing in the State of Indiana. A limited number of scholarships are awarded each year to incoming first-year students who are residents of Indiana. The amount of the award varies and is a non-renewable, one year scholarship. Selection is made by the scholarship committee in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Relations, Office of Student Financial Services and Office of Admission based on academic criteria and financial need.
The deadline to apply for this scholarship is January 15, 2024.
Legacy Scholarship
The Legacy Scholarship is funded by donations from the State of Ohio Collegiate License Plate Program. Incoming first-year students who are lineal descendants (children or grandchildren) of Xavier University graduates are considered. A limited number of scholarships are awarded each year. The scholarship can be renewed for up to 4 years so long as the student remains in good academic standing with the University. The amount awarded each year varies. Selection will be made by the Legacy Scholarship Committee.
