Will my Cincinnati State credits transfer to Xavier? Yes. Xavier and Cincinnati State follow the Ohio Articulation & Transfer Policy. College level coursework completed at Cincinnati State is accepted toward class standing at Xavier and articulated to specific Xavier courses whenever possible. Credits transfer, but grades and GPA do not transfer. Your Xavier GPA begins after you enroll in courses at Xavier. What if I don’t meet the 3.0 GPA or degree requirements? Students who have not completed an AA or AS degree, have a GPA below 3.0, or were previously dismissed from another institution may still apply. These applications are reviewed according to Xavier’s standard transfer admission policies. Will I definitely finish my bachelor’s degree in two years? Many students complete their degree in approximately two additional years through a 2+2 pathway. However, due to curriculum sequencing and enrollment patterns, Xavier cannot guarantee completion within a specific timeframe or number of credits. What grades are required for my courses to transfer? Courses completed with a grade of C or higher transfer for students who earn an AA or AS degree. Some Xavier programs require higher minimum grades for specific courses, in which case a course may need to be retaken. This policy applies equally to all Xavier students. How does financial aid work when I transfer? Federal regulations allow financial aid to be awarded by only one institution at a time. Financial aid from Cincinnati State ends when you stop enrolling there. Students must reapply for financial aid upon transferring to Xavier and follow Xavier’s deadlines and policies.
