Faculty-led Programs
Faculty-led programs are study abroad programs directed by two or more faculty members from Xavier who accompany the students abroad for the duration of their program. Usually these experiences are short in duration, around one to six weeks in length. Xavier has 30+ active faculty-led programs in rotation spanning winter break, spring break, summer, and a few graduate programs in the fall term.

Non-Credit Abroad Programs
Non-credit programs are abroad programs that do not offer coursework, but are supported by the University for a student experience abroad. Usually these experiences are short in duration like faculty-led programs. Students conducting research, traveling with a team, or participating in an alternative break are examples of non-credit abroad programs.

Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) Courses
Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is an embedded aspect of a course taught at Xavier alongside an instructor and classroom abroad. Together, instructors develop collaborative projects that students do in teams to navigate time zones, language differences, and geographical distances using online tools. COIL gives both students and instructors the opportunity to actively engage course concepts and new ideas, and -- most importantly -- exposes students to different cultural perspectives.
