Michelle Van Dyke, PhD, CSCS
Visiting Professor
Dr. Michelle Van Dyke is a visiting faculty member for the 2025–2026 academic year. She earned her Ph.D. in Sport Science and Physiology from East Tennessee State University in 2023. Her dissertation investigated the relationship between training loads and performance outcomes during the pre-season in elite women’s basketball athletes.
Dr. Van Dyke’s research interests center on athlete monitoring, the application of force plate technology, and resistance training for both performance enhancement and long-term health. Prior to joining Xavier University, she served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Pittsburgh women’s basketball program and has taught a range of courses across the exercise science curriculum at multiple institutions.
She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and an active member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
