Sport Management and Marketing LLC
LLC Overview
Designed for first-year students majoring (or exploring) sport management or sport marketing, this LLC creates an engaging environment where students can immerse themselves in the dynamic world of sports business. Through shared learning experiences both in and out of the classroom, students will develop a deeper understanding of the industry while fostering connections with peers and faculty. Activities include community-building events, game watch parties, exclusive guest speakers from the sports industry, and behind-the-scenes experiences at sporting events. Students will also have opportunities to network with professionals, gain insights into career pathways, and explore emerging trends in sports management and marketing. This LLC is ideal for students passionate about sports who want to enhance their academic journey through hands-on learning and industry exposure.

LLC Requirements
The Sport Management and Marketing LLC is open to first-year students studying Sport Management or Sport Marketing at Xavier, as well as exploratory students who have indicated an interest in these areas of study. It is expected that all LLC students are enrolled in each associated course for the LLC (see below) and live in the LLC's designated residence hall.
The Sport Management & Sport Marketing LLC is housed in Husman Hall.
Participant Application
As a part of the housing application, first-year students interested in being a part of the Sport Management and Marketing LLC will be required to respond to the following questions on their housing application. Students who are interested in joining the LLC must provide a 1,500 character (250-300-word) responses for each of the questions below:
- What interests you most about studying sport management or sport marketing?
- What aspects of living and learning with peers who share your academic interests appeal to you?
- What professional experiences or opportunities are you most excited to explore in the sport industry during your first year?
- What type of programming would you like to see from Sport Management and Sport Marketing faculty during your time in the LLC?
LLC Programming
Academic Offerings
LLC students are required to enroll in SPMG 110 in fall semester of their first year at Xavier; additional coursework will be required in the spring semester depending on scheduling and faculty availability. Having this shared academic experience offers an opportunities for unique group work, develop study groups, and augment the on-campus living and learning experience. The spring semester will also feature an associated course. While the exact course may vary from year to year, the program faculty will assess the needs and interests of the LLC to ensure the chosen course is aligned with the community.
Co-Curricular Activities
Students in the Sport Management and Marketing LLC will have the opportunity to attend and engage in exclusive programs and activities to further build community and create real-world connections to what is being learned in the classroom. These activities will change year to year, and may include:
- Game day watch parties
- Exclusive guest speakers
- Study groups and workshops
- Networking events with alumni
- Facility tours and behind-the-scenes experiences
- Sports philanthropy projects
