Upperclass Student

Rising juniors and seniors interested in living on campus for next academic year should participate in this housing selection process.

The terms of the housing contract become effective, and students are locked into living on campus, once their assignment has been made for them (accommodations or squatting) or once they select their room (open selection).  Students who then decide they do not want to live on campus must apply to be released from the contract and if granted will pay the cancellation fee.

Upperclass students who are unsure of their plans for next year can elect to wait and apply later on in spring semester.

Hall Options for Rising Juniors and Seniors

• Commons Apartments
• Manor House
• Village Apartments

 Squatting in Apartment Area

• Students may indicate their desire to stay in the same apartment complex for next year (i.e., squatting) on the application. 
• Students have the option to squat in the same building but returning to the same exact unit is not guaranteed. Availability per hall may vary.
• Priority will be given to full or partial groups remaining in the same location. For roommate groups, each student must have submitted an application by the deadline and form a roommate group in MyHousing
• Students who later apply for summer housing will be required to move spaces even if they are living in the same unit during spring 2027 and the next semester, fall 2027.

Room Selection

• Students will be assigned a selection time and similar to prior selection processes will select from the remaining space available at their time. 
• This selection will occur online within the housing application on either November 12th or 13th.

The application solidifies your intent to live on campus, including reviewing the housing agreement and collecting information such as your emergency contacts.

How To: 

1. Log in to the MyHousing portal
2. Navigate to the Housing Applications tab and select the correct application
3. Make sure to complete all required information and to click through the entire application until you receive a confirmation screen
4. Students with a need for a housing accommodation should complete the application AND work with the Office of Accessibility and Disability Resources to complete the accommodation process prior to the deadline.

Students have the option to form a roommate group of up to four individuals within the housing application.  When searching for roommates, they must have completed a housing application before being viewable

Roommate pairing group size is limited to four people.

The below groups of students will have their housing assignments made in advance of room selection days and will not need to select their own space:

• Students with approved housing accommodations through Accessibility and Disability Resources and confirmed roommates.
• Students who elect to squat in the same building and confirmed roommates.

Once the above assignment are made and communicated, those applicants are locked into living on campus.

For all other applicants, students will receive a randomized selection time via Xavier email prior to room selection, specifying their time to log in and select a room. Any student in a roommate group is able to log into MyHousing and select for all students in the group.

Occurs: Thursday, November 12-Friday, November 13, 2026

How To:  At your assigned room selection time:

1. Log in to the MyHousing portal
2. During your selection time, the selection process will be viewable on your Housing Application
3. When your time is active, you will be able to see available spaces, click a specific room and place your pair
4. Click all the way through the portal to confirm your selection.  Once a selection is made, the applicant is locked into living on campus.
