Student Nurse Organization
Working in the healthcare industry requires collaboration and teamwork. While in the B.S.N. program, you can participate in our Student Nurse Organization, which strives to enhance the development of student nurses as professionals.
As a member, you partner with your classmates to plan learning activities and events that enrich your understanding of the importance of nurses in the health care system. You also participate in community service projects, facilitate interaction with other Xavier Clubs and provide a supportive social network for each other in the nursing program.

Located in the Health United Building (HUB), our clinical simulation laboratories use human patient simulators to create real-life scenarios, allowing you to build your practical skills.
As an essential part of your nursing education, you participate in practicum placements for six to 12 hours per week in various hospitals and other healthcare agencies.

Yes. The University Scholars Honors Program offers nursing students a more challenging curriculum within their chosen major, alongside close support from professors. Acceptance into the program is highly selective and includes a $2000 travel grant.
While we accept transfer applications for nursing, please note that it's highly competitive with limited openings.

- Direct Admit Program: Our nursing program is designed for direct entry.
- Prerequisite Completion: You must have completed at least 24 credit hours, including Anatomy & Physiology I and II, and either Introduction to Sociology or Introduction to Social Work, with a minimum grade of B in each course.
- Transfer Limit: Transfers are eligible to enter only the second year of the program.
- Dismissal Policy: Students dismissed from another nursing program are ineligible for transfer

Nursing Program at Xavier University
The undergraduate Nursing program at Xavier University is a community-based, holistic program focused on a health and wellness model that educates future nurses in the skills of communication, coordination and cooperation with other health-care professionals. Students choose a traditional, four-year track for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) for those with a degree in other disciplines.
