FAFSA Tips

What is the FAFSA? The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form that is used by the U.S. Department of Education and Xavier University to determine your eligibility for scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study.

The 2024-2025 FAFSA is available. Use the 2024-2025 FAFSA to request aid for Summer 2024, Fall 2024, and Spring 2025.

Create your FSA ID. Every FAFSA contributor is required to have an FSA ID to provide consent to have their federal tax information (FTI) transferred from the IRS, have their tax data used to determine the student's eligibility for aid, and allow the U.S. Department of Education (ED) to share their tax information with institutions and state higher education agencies for the administration of federal aid. Visit StudentAid.gov to learn more.
