Other Considerations

Please remember the following as you anticipate your ABSN program cost:

  • The tuition and fee amounts are based on the rates that have been set for the 2022-2023 academic year.
  • Additional fees may apply since fees vary from course to course.
  • The Student Activity Fee is charged in the fall and spring semesters only.
  • Prerequisite courses will increase your program cost. For the 2022-2023 academic year, prerequisite courses are charged at $450/credit hour.
  • An estimated Cost of Attendance (COA) is used to determine how much financial aid may be offered to a student. The COA includes tuition and fee amounts as well as allowances for books and supplies, housing, meals, transportation, and miscellaneous expenses.
  • Tuition and fees are subject to change at any time without notice.

Federal Student Loans

In order to secure any Federal Direct Loan funds that are included as part of your aid package, you must complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at StudentAid.gov. First-time federal loan borrowers also must complete Entrance Counseling which is available on the same website.

You should check the StudentAid.gov website if you are not certain that you have completed the necessary loan requirements.

Private (Alternative) Education Loans

Since federal loans will not cover the full cost of the ABSN program, many students acquire private loans to finance the remaining balance. Students may choose any lender/financial institution. Applications are submitted online through the lender's website. After the loan is approved, a certification request will be sent to Xavier.
