  • EDAD 548: Principalship (3 credit hours): A deep dive into the theory and practice of the principal's role, with a special emphasis on adapting to demographic and regulatory changes.
  • EDAD 562: Political Structures & School/Comm Relations (3 credit hours): This course is designed to help future school leaders understand the relationship between schools and their communities, including effective communication and public relations strategies.
  • EDAD 563: School Finance, Bus. Affairs & Physical Facilities (3 credit hours): Explore the financial operations and resource management necessary to run an efficient school, from budget oversight to facility maintenance.
  • EDAD 565: School Law (3 credit hours): Gain in-depth knowledge of key legal issues in education by exploring landmark U.S. Supreme Court cases and federal and state statutes.
  • EDAD 570: Policy, Planning, Evaluation, and Assessment (3 credit hours): Learn to navigate and influence educational policy by developing strategic planning skills and analyzing data to drive policy reforms.
  • EDAD 660: Curriculum Design & Teaching Strategies (3 credit hours): This course focuses on the theory and practice of curriculum design, development, and evaluation, and how it relates to the leadership capacity of principals.
  • EDAD 771/772: Principal Internship I (3 credit hours): A hands-on internship providing the opportunity to work under the guidance of a certified administrator for a minimum of 200 hours.
  • EDAD 781/782: Principal Internship II (3 credit hours): The second part of the internship, providing a continued opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world educational setting.

In addition to the coursework, all candidates must register for and pass the 015 (OAE) exam.
