Curriculum (12 credits)

Our 12-credit curriculum offers a high-impact blend of advanced school finance, educational law, and 300 hours of hands-on internship experience designed to prepare you for the real-world complexities of district leadership.
A thorough examination of financial operations, resource management, budgetary control, purchasing processes, school insurance, facility management, pupil transportation, and school construction.
An in-depth exploration of key legal issues in education, including U.S. Supreme Court cases, federal and state statutes, constitutional law, labor issues, student and parent rights, and community interests.
A supervised internship providing practical experience in school treasurer duties, focusing on applying classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. Minimum 150 hour internship.
A continuation of internship 1, with a minimum of 150 additional hours of supervised internship.
Where can this certificate take you?
As a licensed Treasurer, you serve as the primary fiscal leader and Chief Financial Officer, guiding critical decisions on state funding, five-year forecasts and levy planning. Beyond overseeing the district’s "business engine"—from multi-million dollar construction projects to pupil transportation—you will act as a strategic expert in labor negotiations, GAAP compliance and statutory legal requirements.
