Group Fitness Participation Policies

We kindly ask that group fitness participants adhere to our outlined participation policies to ensure a positive, safe fitness environment for everyone.

  • Participants must be at least 18 years of age in order to use the fitness area.
  • Be courteous and respectful of all persons.
  • Closed toe athletic shoes and athletic tops/bottoms are the only attire allowed inside the Fitness Center. Shoes MUST be worn at all times with the exception of yoga or pilates classes.
  • Participants are advised to report any injuries or conditions which may affect their participation to the instructor prior to class beginning. 
  • Participants are advised to exercise at their own pace, take water breaks, and stop immediately if they feel they are at risk of getting injured or ill.
  • All equipment must be used in the manner for which it is designed.
  • Participants are NOT allowed to enter the class after it has already begun. This is to ensure safety/proper warm-up and to avoid disruption. 
  • The on-duty Rec Sports staff has authority over all facility areas, conduct, and use of equipment.
  • Please return all equipment to its proper rack/storage after use.
  • Lift weights in a controlled manner refraining from slamming weights.
  • Wipe down equipment after use. 
  • Headphones must be used while listening to personal music.
  • No bags, coats, books, etc. allowed in workout areas. Day locker and cubbies are available for storage.
  • Report any injuries or incidents to the Rec Sports staff immediately.
  • The use of chalk is prohibited. 
  • Chewing Gum is prohibited.
  • Photography or videography of other patrons is not permitted. 
  • All beverages must be in a closed container with lid/cap.
