How to Apply for Aid
- Be accepted into a degree-seeking or teacher certification program at Xavier University.
- Complete the FAFSA form. Consult our FAFSA tips page for help in completing this application. Xavier University's federal school code is 003144.
- After the FAFSA form has been processed, the student will receive a FAFSA Submission Summary from the federal processor. Review the information on the FAFSA Submission Summary for accuracy. If corrections need to be made, follow the instructions included on the summary. Xavier will receive an Institutional Student Aid Report from the federal processor for all students who list Xavier University in the school section of the federal aid application.
- If the student's federal aid application has been selected for a process called verification, the student will have to complete the verification process before an aid offer can be prepared. Required documents will be requested by the Office of Student Financial Services via Financial Aid Self-Service.
- Once the student has been admitted to Xavier University and the FAFSA results have been received at Xavier, financial aid eligibility will be determined. Students will be notified by email when their aid offer is ready to be viewed on Self-Service. The Office of Student Financial Services begins preparing awards in March for the upcoming year. Students should expect to receive their aid offer approximately three weeks after being accepted into a degree program at Xavier and after the Office of Student Financial Services has the results of the FAFSA form.
