Intercultural Competency in Colombia Summer Program

 

The 2024 Xavier Summer Program in Colombia will offer four-week language and cultural immersion experience based in Cali, Colombia at the Jesuit University Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Cali. Students will be able to earn nine credits of upper division Spanish courses to fulfill in the Xavier Spanish major or minor or in the university core curriculum, as applicable. 

In addition to classes, program activities will include various excursions, including the following: 

3-day excursion to the coffee region of Quindío, with overnight in Cocora, and visit to colonial towns of Salento and Finlandia. Students will participate in activities such as: horseback riding, zip lining, hiking, and visiting a coffee farm. 

4-day excursion to the Amazon, Leticia, Colombia 

Full day excursion to Ecopark in the Valle de Cauca 

Local excursions to parks, historical and popular sites in and around Cali.

Music, Popular Dance and Theatre of Colombia (Spanish and Creative Perspectives) 

Application deadline is February 15, 2024.
