About the Auditions and Interviews

Admission into the Xavier University Theatre program is competitive. Any student interested in being considered as a Xavier Theatre, Musical Theatre or Theatre Education major must audition and/or interview with the Theatre faculty. This process includes either an audition or tech/design presentation and a personal interview.

It is required that you start the process by submitting either the Xavier Online Application or the Common Application. Once the applicant is accepted to Xavier University, they can and should submit the Theatre Major Application. After the theatre application has been received, you will be contacted by someone in the program to set an audition/interview time on the date you select.

Auditions and interviews usually last approximately 45 minutes. Current students will be available to answer any questions and to show you around the theatre facilities.
