Xavier Scholarships
Fredin & Peter Scholarship
Each year, several recipients have the opportunity to study at the University of Paris (Sorbonne) or the University of Grenoble through a long-standing endowed scholarship fund. The scholarship competition is offered annually and open to all Xavier students, regardless of major. One must demonstrate an interest in and aptitude for language study as well as seriousness of purpose for study abroad. Applications are available each fall semester through the Office of the Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences.
Gasiewicz Study Abroad Scholarship
The Gasiewicz Scholarship was established to help students gain international business experience through study abroad/international internships. Awardees will receive $750-1500 to help offset the cost of studying abroad in approved programs. Around 8-10 undergraduate scholarships are available to business students each year. These funds may be used for tuition and/or travel-related expenses.
International Education Community Engagement Fund Scholarship
This scholarship is available to students participating in either a for-credit academic service-learning/engagement course as part of their study abroad program, or community engagement/service as an integrated part of the experience. Programs must have a focus on service learning or faith and justice type activities while studying abroad.
Janice Steinberg Memorial Scholarship
This need-based scholarship is available to students participating in Xavier Faculty-led or Xavier Expeditions (international only) summer programs. The deadline for applications for summer 2024 is Friday, February 16, 2024.
University Scholars International Grant
Students in the University Scholars program have access to a grant for study abroad.
USAC-XU Scholarship
Xavier students participating on a USAC program are encouraged to apply for the affiliate scholarship. The application can be found in your Xavier application to study abroad. For questions, please email studyabroad@xavier.edu.
API-XU Scholarship
Xavier students participating on an API summer program are encouraged to apply for Xavier specific scholarships. The application can be found in your Xavier application to study abroad. For questions, please email studyabroad@xavier.edu.
Growing Global Educators Scholarship
College of Professional Sciences majors are invited to apply for a scholarship to study abroad on one of four faculty-led programs offered by the School of Education in 2024 over spring break in Costa Rica or during the summer in Peru, Ireland, or England. Eight awardees will receive $1,600 each. Eligible CPS majors must have a 2.5 GPA or higher and must demonstrate financial need.
To apply for this scholarship, submit the application form, the brief personal response (prompt can be found on application form), and one faculty-completed disposition form by Friday, December 1st. All of the materials must be submitted by the deadline of Friday, December 1, 2023 to be considered. Email the application to garciag6@xavier.edu or submit a hard copy to the School of Education office, Hailstones 3rd floor.
