Dr. Kimberly Pietsch Miller
Director, Centers for Education
Kimberly Pietsch Miller, Ed.D., is an accomplished educational leader with more than 34 years of experience serving students, educators, and communities across Ohio. Most recently, she served as Chief of Leadership Development for the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, where she supported leadership growth and capacity-building efforts for schools and districts statewide. Prior to her state-level leadership role, Dr. Miller served as superintendent/CEO of Eastland-Fairfield Career & Technical Schools and superintendent of Bexley City Schools.
Throughout her career, Dr. Miller has held a variety of leadership positions across PK-12 education, including chief academic officer, assistant superintendent, principal, assistant principal, and educational consultant. She has also taught graduate-level courses at The Ohio State University and Capital University and served as an adjunct professor and Women in Leadership Advisory Board member at Ashland University.
Dr. Miller's expertise includes strategic planning, leadership development, organizational improvement, systems thinking, and stakeholder engagement. She is passionate about building strong leadership teams, fostering collaborative organizational cultures, and helping educational systems navigate change to improve outcomes for students. Her work centers on creating opportunities for learners while supporting educators and school leaders in achieving sustainable success.
As Director of the Centers for Education, Dr. Miller leads efforts to strengthen partnerships between Xavier University and PK-12 schools and educational organizations throughout Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Drawing on her extensive experience as a teacher, administrator, superintendent, and state education leader, she works closely with school and district leaders to expand innovative professional learning, leadership development, and support services that address the evolving needs of educators and students.
