College of Nursing


Prospective undergraduate students begin the admission process through the Office of Undergraduate Admission. Go to the Undergraduate Admission website to learn about Xavier, the admission process, to get connected with an admission counselor, and to arrange a visit.

Freshmen enrolled in the Xavier nursing program must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.70 in order to begin sophomore level nursing courses and must thereafter maintain a cumulative 2.70 grade point average to remain in the program.

A felony conviction or misdemeanor conviction may result in disqualification for state licensure (as outlined in Section 4723.28 of the Ohio Revised Code). Students are required to have a FBI/BCI background check and 10 panel drug screen performed annually and as requested by the Director of the College of Nursing and/or designee. The nursing student handbook specifies when the background check/ drug screen must be obtained.
