Xavier University and the Department of Art are pleased to announce a Solo Thesis Exhibition by senior art major, Isabelle Munafo, April 21-May 13th, 2023.

Isabelle Munafo presents, From Behind Closed Doors, an installation designed with the intention of providing awareness, education, and resources for those who are or know someone who is struggling with domestic violence, PTSD, substance abuse, sexual assault, suicide, and mental illness. By opening these physical and metaphorical doors, the artist seeks to foster open communication on topics we typically leave behind closed doors. Only by speaking about these topics and experiences can we hope to create positive change.

A speaker panel will take place beginning at 5:00 p.m. on April 21, featuring representatives from the National Alliance on Mental Illness, YWCA, Envision Partnerships, and 1-N-5. Informational materials from Lighthouse Youth and Family Services will be available.

Please join us for the Artist’s Reception on Friday, April 21, 4:00-6:30. Refreshments will be catered by Two Women in a Kitchen.

Gallery hours are M-F, 10:00-4:00 and by appointment. For information, call (513) 745-3811.
