Xavier University and the Department of Art are pleased to present
an exhibition of prints:

Human Rights/Derechos Humanos - Prints by Oaxaca and Cincinnati Artists, August 22-September 23.

The exhibition consists of 75 prints by 25 artists, 12 from Oaxaca and 13 from Cincinnati. Each participating artist created a woodcut with a theme of human rights, such as right to education, to health, to labor, to a home, etc. All artists also contributed two different prints for the exhibit, featuring their other printmaking techniques and styles.

The exhibition is organized and curated by founder and President Saad Ghosn of SOS ART, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote the Arts for Peace and Justice.

Three Oaxaca visiting artists will be in Cincinnati for the exhibition and will be present as well as other participating Cincinnati artists at the opening Artists Reception on Friday, August 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

On Saturday, August 27, 2:00 to 5:00 pm, artists will share presentations during which the visiting Oaxaca artists and any of the participating Cincinnati artists will present their images of their work and speak about their techniques.
