The Rome Experience 2019

Xavier University and the Department of Art are pleased to present The Rome Experience 2019, an exhibition of mixed media works by Xavier University students: Annie DeGrood, Dodi Fredericks, Emma Malinoski, Lilly Mueller, Alice Roeding, and Hannah Smith. A diario created by Italian language student, Elise Cassidy, will also be shown.

 The Rome Experience 2019 works represent their weeks-long Italian cultural immersion this past summer in Rome, while also visiting neighboring cities such as Florence, Siena, and Venice through a study abroad course taught by Suzanne Chouteau, Professor in Xavier’s Department of Art. The exhibition is on display October 1-25, 2019.

 They created art that was inspired by master artists or that was figurative and landscape based. Professor Chouteau explains, “This year marks the 14th exhibition centered around the study of great European art. It is a celebratory tradition to commemorate this life-changing experience and to share it with the community.”
