MA Theology
MA in Health Care Mission Integration
The graduate program in theology provides students with a firm foundation in Christian theology through the study of scripture, tradition and ethics. Students with varying backgrounds acquire the conceptual tools to look at world and local issues from a theological perspective. Optional concentrations in social and pastoral ministry and in religious education prepare students to meet local and national guidelines for these ministries in the Catholic Church. The program in theology is flexible enough to accommodate a wide variety of interests.
The theology department collaborates with the department of health services administration to prepare professionals through an MA program in Health Care Mission Integration. This joint program is designed to provide preparation for Mission Directors and others who lead their colleagues in Catholic and other Christian health services to foster and enhance the spirit of love, compassion, and service within these institutions. This joint program focuses on understanding the Christian tradition and embodying it midst the challenges of institutional, technological, and cultural change.
The theology faculty at Xavier consists of full-time professors who possess a variety of theological competencies and distinguished visiting professors. The faculty is actively involved in research and has published extensively. Many are nationally or internationally known experts in their field. Click on "Faculty" for more information.
