Specifically, Professor Austin provides her perspective on effective paragraphing. Take a look and consider her advice while writing your next paper! --Kara H

WC: What is the most important writing tip you would like to share with students writing an English paper?

Professor Austin: Use short, focused paragraphs. Yes, paragraphs group like ideas together, but effective paragraphing can also highlight your key points and provide focus. If you encounter a wall of text in your online reading, what do you? Skip over it or click right on to the next thing. Your audience is likely to have the same reaction to bulky paragraphing. In addition to organizing your content, focused paragraphs can help engage and retain your audience.
