Art in the Future

students watching print making
Step into the studio of tomorrow at Art in the Future, a week-long summer camp at Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH where creativity bridges the past and the present. Campers explore how traditional materials and methods can merge with emerging digital tools to imagine new forms of art. Led by Xavier professors Kat Dienno (art history and printmaking), Sharee Allen (photography), and Jonathan Gibson (AI art, graphic design, and mixed media), students work across mediums, experimenting with printmaking, photo composition, digital collage, and AI-assisted design. Daily activities encourage collaboration, problem-solving, and playful competition as participants switch between “traditional” and “contemporary” challenges. By week’s end, campers showcase their projects in a gallery walk celebrating innovation, teamwork, and the future of art itself.
