WEEK OF WELCOME

August 16, 2020 - August 24, 2020 

The Week of Welcome (WoW) is a week of FREE events welcoming first year and transfer students and welcoming back returning students. Week of Welcome is coordinated and promoted by the Office of Student Involvement, but made possible by the dozens of departments and student organizations sponsoring events throughout the week.  Xavier University recognized student organizations, offices, and departments are invited to propose to host a Week of Welcome event.  WoW is strictly for Xavier student organizations, offices, and departments. Vendors and outside organizations looking to have a presence during this week can propose to be a sponsor of Club Day.

STUDENT ORGANIZATION WORKSHOPS

This comprehensive 30-minute session provides an overview of the necessary tools and guidelines to get started running a successful organization. Whether you're a new club officer or an experienced leader, a big club or small, this course is designed to introduce you to or refresh your knowledge of club management.

Student Workshop is mandatory. If your organization chooses not to attend you will not be allowed to participate in Club Day. Due to space limitations reservations are required.

The next Student Organization Workshops are August 19-23, 2019

CLUB DAYS

Tuesday, August 25 / Wednesday, August 26 / Thursday, August 27
from 3pm-5:30pm

With over 170 campus clubs to choose from, our student organizations truly offer something for everyone! Students have an opportunity to meet and interact with most of these groups at the annual Club Day events where they can get information about how to join and also about upcoming events and activities!  Club Day Registration opens July 2020.

Process to Register:
Only recognized Student Organizations (including Limited Affiliation Groups) are eligible to exhibit at Club Day along with Xavier Offices and Departments. Each day will feature a different offering of categories to allow students the opportunity to explore more deeply what we have to offer them.

Tuesday (8/25): General Interests, History Law & Politics, Health Professions, Business, STEM

Wednesday (8/26): Identity, Language & Culture, Service & Social Justice, Spirituality, SGA

Thursday (8/27): Art, Publications & Media, Club Sports, Education, Honors, Wellness

To register, interested groups must complete this registration form. Once approved, we will contact the submitter to inform you of your acceptance and provide further instruction.  Specific location requests will not be considered. Student organizations will be assigned a location based on their organization type.

Fundraising is prohibited at Club Day. You may not collect money or operate any kind of fundraiser at your table. You are welcome to promote upcoming fundraisers as long as they are registered, approved fundraisers with the Office of Student Involvement.  Participants and attendees will be asked to participate in social distancing best practices whch includes wearing masks.

STUDENT ORGANIZATION ACADEMY

Monday, September 14 - 28

This online program is built to offer you, as a club leader, a comprehensive and tailored training for your role ahead. Featuring four online modules, sessions and training videos to offer you tools to navigate policies and procedures and direction to make your organization a success.  Ths course is built in Canvas.  If you need access and have not been added to the course, please contact lewisd6@xavier.edu. 

This event is mandatory for student organization Presidents and Treasurers.  The course has a number of quizzes and participants are expected to score 100% on the quizzes to complete the course.

 

WINTER WEEK OF WELCOME

January 11-16, 2021

The Week of Welcome (WoW) is a week of FREE events welcoming first year and transfer students to campus and welcoming back returning students to Xavier University. Week of Welcome is coordinated and promoted by the Office of Student Involvement, but made possible by the dozens of clubs and departments sponsoring events throughout the week.  Xavier University recognized student organizations, offices, and departments are invited to propose to host a Winter Week of Welcome event.  Registration to include events for Winter WoW will open in November 2019.  Winter WoW is strictly for Xavier student organizations, offices, and departments.

WINTER CLUB DAY

Registration Opens November 1, 2020.

Process to Register:
Only recognized Student Organizations (including Limited Affiliation Groups) are eligible to exhibit at Winter Club Day. To register, interested groups must complete this registration form. Once approved, we will contact the submitter to inform you of your acceptance and provide further instruction. Specific location requests will not be considered. Student organizations will be assigned a location based on their registration time - first to register gets the best location.

Xavier Offices and Departments are not invited to exhibit at Winter Club Day due to space limitations. Gallagher Student Center offices are invited to host open houses during the event.
