Looking for a Campus Student Employee Position or Internship?
Xavier University is moving to a new and improved online job and internship application system. Beginning December 15, 2025, you will be able to explore open positions and submit your applications through Workday. Student Employment position opportunities will no longer be posted on Handshake but only on Workday.
Before applying for positions, view below how to prepare your resume and cover letter, then follow instructions at the bottom of the page to search and apply for student employee campus positions.
- Prepare your resume. When applying for positions, you will be required to upload your resume to Workday. View the following resources to get started.
- Prepare a cover letter. Some employers will require a cover letter to be included as part of the application process. Even if it’s not required, a cover letter can highlight your interest in the position and why you may be a good fit for the position. - Have your resume and/or cover letter reviewed by a Xavier Career Coach.
Once you have prepared at least a draft of your resume and/or cover letter, upload it to Handshake and a Xavier Career Coach will review your document(s) and they will send you helpful feedback. To do this,- Activate your Handshake profile, if you haven’t already done so, by logging into Handshake with your Xavier login and password.
- Upload your resume as a pdf file to Handshake It's best to upload documents saved as pdfs to maintain formatting.
- Make sure you set your document(s) as visible. If it is not visible, the Career Coaching team will not be able to review them.
Search and Apply for Positions in Workday
- Log in to Workday HERE using your Xavier username and password.
- From the Workday home page, you can type “Job Hub” in the search bar or under Menu, select Jobs Hub.
- Click “Find Student Jobs”
- Review available on-campus positions.
- Click on a job posting to view the full description and qualifications.
- Click “Apply”
- Upload your Resume and click Next.
- Review your Work Experience and Education, Skill section not required
- Upload your Cover Letter and click Next
- Provide your work availability and your visa/immigration status
- Complete Voluntary Disclosures and click Next
- Review your Application and click Submit
- You can check the status of your applications anytime under “My Applications.”
Employers will review student applicant information and will contact applicants they are interested in considering for their position.
If hired, you will be required to complete onboarding prior to starting training or work. You will need to present acceptable original ID to complete this onboarding. View the details!
