Introducing the Journal of Emerging Scholars in Occupational Therapy (JESOT)
October 31, 2025
Empowering New Voices. Advancing Occupational Therapy.
We are proud to announce the launch of the Journal of Emerging Scholars in Occupational Therapy (JESOT)—a new, open-access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to highlighting the voices of students, early-career professionals, and emerging scholars in the field of occupational therapy.
JESOT provides a platform for innovative ideas, practice-based insights, and scholarly work that advances occupational therapy education, research, and practice. Submissions may include original research, capstone projects, program evaluations, case studies, reflective pieces, and more.
Our goal is to create an inclusive space that supports emerging voices while contributing to the growth of our profession. We also invite experienced practitioners and faculty to join us as peer reviewers and mentors in this process of scholarly development.
Call for Participation
We invite you to submit an article for consideration or join us as a peer reviewer! JESOT will publish one volume with two issues each year, beginning in 2026.
About JESOT
The Journal of Emerging Scholars in Occupational Therapy (JESOT) was launched by the editors, Dr. Marnie Renda and Dr. Leah Dunn, faculty in the Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program at Xavier University, to highlight the voices of new and emerging scholars. What began as a way to publish capstone projects grew into a peer-reviewed platform for innovative ideas across education, practice, and research. Supported by Xavier University library grants and brought to life with the dedicated project management of OTD student Cora Pack, JESOT reflects a three-year journey from vision to reality.
