Faculty Spotlight: Ashley Stadler Blank

Sometimes the best careers begin with a happy accident. That’s how Ashley Stadler Blank describes her path to becoming an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Xavier University.

A Cincinnati native and Xavier graduate, Stadler Blank originally built her career in sports, working in college football and in Major League Baseball. When she moved back to Cincinnati, a temporary one-year teaching opportunity at Xavier unexpectedly changed everything. She quickly discovered a passion for the classroom and the opportunity to give back to students.

After that experience, Stadler Blank pursued a Ph.D. at Pennsylvania State University, eventually returning to Xavier as a tenure-track faculty member. Today, her work blends research and teaching, with much of her scholarship focusing on the intersection of consumer behavior and sports marketing—including recent research on legalized sports betting in Ohio.

In the classroom, Stadler Blank emphasizes experiential learning. Students act as consultants for real organizations such as Graeter's Ice Cream and Findlay Market, gaining hands-on experience they can carry into their careers.
