Education Abroad Programming

Study Abroad Fair

The Center for International Education offers a Study Abroad Fair to students in the fall and spring semesters to explore the many available options offered at Xavier. Faculty-led programs, Xavier-sponsored and Exchange semester programs, and Xavier's Semester in Peru are showcased each year.

Study Abroad Information Session

In addition to the fair, the Center for International Education hosts their own information sessions and also collaborates with campus academic departments, as well as student support services to provide introductory information about study abroad programs and the process to study abroad. You may see us at Manresa, Club Day, the Biology department's First-Year Friday Fun, TRiO Workshops, and more.

Study Abroad Application & Scholarship Workshops

New to the 2020-2021 academic year, the area of Education Abroad will host a few workshops to help students through their study abroad applications and provide tips and essay review for scholarships, as the deadlines approach.

Pre-Departure Orientation

All students accepted into a study abroad program will participate in a pre-departure orientation. The orientation provides information pertinent to health and safety while abroad, billing and financial aid, cultural adjustment, and registration and transfer credit processes.

Students will be notified about their pre-departure orientation date within several weeks of the orientation.

Lessons from Abroad - Ohio Conference

This annual conference provides students who are returned from study abroad an opportunity to connect with peers across the state of Ohio to unpack their experience, network, and consider additional opportunities to go abroad.

Global X Peer Advisor

The Global X Peer Advising team is a small group of students employed by the CIE to provide peer advising to students seeking study abroad opportunities. Peer advisors discuss their experience abroad to other students, provide guidance for researching program options and funding, and assist students with their questions about the application process, scholarships, and more. Students eligible for the role are asked to submit an application in July for the next academic year.
