LECOM Early Acceptance

Through our early acceptance program, you can be enrolled in medical school while you complete your undergraduate degree.

The Early Acceptance Program is designed to facilitate the admission of Xavier students into Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM); this means that as an undergraduate, you can be enrolled simultaneously at both Xavier and LECOM.

LECOM will interview students prior to their enrollment at Xavier University or within the first two years of study at Xavier. Students interviewing successfully will be offered a provisional acceptance to LECOM's Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program. If they meet the criteria, they can choose from any of the LECOM campuses, dependent upon space availability. Campuses are located in Pennsylvania and Florida.

The Early Acceptance Program has two phases:

  • Phase I: credit-hour equivalent of four years of undergraduate education at Xavier University
  • Phase II: medical school education at LECOM and its associated clinical training sites

How to Apply

If you're a high school student, you should apply to Xavier by the February 1 deadline. You should also complete the LECOM online EAP application by April 1, prior to entering Xavier in August.
