Bond Investment Fund
As part of their capstone class (BUAD 694) experience in the Xavier University MBA Program, graduate students manage a portion of the Xavier University Endowment. The primary investment objective of the Xavier Student Bond Investment Fund (XSBIF) is to provide for the preservation of capital with an emphasis on the consistent long-term growth of capital and total return without undue risk. The XSBIF seeks a total return benchmarked against the Bloomberg Barclays U.S. Government Credit Index.
The Fund primarily invests in investment-grade corporate credits, Treasuries, and mortgage-backed securities. The Fund can also invest in Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), taxable municipal bonds, floating-rate notes, preferred stock, and the Fort Washington High Yield Fund, LLC.
