Fifth Third Trading Center

Welcome to the Fifth Third Trading Center, a state-of-the-art trading, research, and teaching facility, located in the Williams College of Business at Xavier University.

The primary objective of the Fifth Third Trading Center is to increase the quality of the academic experience within the Williams College of Business by giving our students an opportunity for experiential learning while empowering our faculty with state-of-the-art technology and teaching tools. The Trading Center is home to one of the nation's largest educational installations of Bloomberg LP financial software - the standard on Wall Street and throughout the global financial industry. We offer our students a real-world experience that provides them with a unique skill set.

Student Managed Investment Funds

The Center is home to two student-managed investment funds with a combined market value of approximately $10 million. Victory Parkway Investments is a $1.7 million fixed income portfolio managed by MBA students and the $7.4 million D'Artagnan Capital Fund is an equity portfolio managed by undergraduate students.

Teaching and Research

Students in Finance, Economics, Human Resource Management, Accounting, MIS, and other classes can use the center to put theory into practice. The center promotes financial education through student and faculty workshops, community outreach programs, executive education, and investment forums. When the trading center is not used for classes and workshops, it is available for students to complete research and assignments.

The Fifth Third Trading Center is a 1,350 square foot educational trading facility designed to replicate the trading floors in investment banks, brokerage firms, and hedge funds on Wall Street. Faculty and students have access to real-time data feeds from leading providers of financial information including Bloomberg LP and S&P Capital IQ. The Center also supports teaching, research, and community outreach programs. The Center contains thirty-two classroom workstations, ten research room workstations, an instructor podium, and real-time feeds to three tickers and five LCD displays.
