The Entrepreneurial and Innovation Mindset

(ENTR 301)

This is an introductory course into the Entrepreneurship and Innovation major and minor that explores the mindset of entrepreneurs, and the innovation process, and introduces the many aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation.  It is the recommended first course for those interested in a major or minor in the discipline.
Pre-requisites: none


Creativity & Innovation

(ENTR/MGMT 305)

This course will teach you the techniques and process of innovation and creativity and focuses on applying principles of Design Thinking and Lean Startup.  Learn how to understand problems, create solutions, and test/gather feedback in an iterative process of creativity and innovation.

Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation

(ENTR 335)

This course explores the concepts of social entrepreneurship and innovation, including what it takes to develop, launch, and manage a successful social mission-driven venture. The course is designed to help prepare future nonprofit, business, and government leaders to generate positive social impact in financially sustainable ways.
Pre-requisites: ENTR 301


Entrepreneurship & Innovation Internship

(ENTR 303/403)

An internship with a startup or innovative organization where students earn academic credit while performing approved entrepreneurial work. This is a required course for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation major.
Pre-requisites: ENTR 301 and ENTR 305


The Entrepreneurial Experience Capstone

(ENTR 495)

This Capstone course will synthesize the students’ entrepreneurship and/innovation coursework with other business coursework to learn how to apply it in the entrepreneurial world.  This is an experiential learning course where the student can build a new business, work with startups, and/or engage with organizations in the innovation ecosystem.

New Venture Planning

(ENTR 311)

This class will expose you to entrepreneurship’s ambiguity and uncertainty while developing an ability to navigate these challenges via proven new venture planning tools and techniques. The course is organized around new venture creation projects that allow you to experience the messiness of entrepreneurship while applying mindsets, tools, and processes to identify problems you can solve, test potential solutions to those problems, and develop business models that sustainably deliver those solutions.

Small Business Consulting

(ENTR 368)

This is a highly applied course in which the instructor plays the role of facilitator and managing consultant. Students serve as consultants to real clients. The course should be considered partially as an independent study class as the student will work with the client outside of the regular class to achieve specific agreed-upon objectives.

Contemporary Issues in Entrepreneurship & Innovation

(ENTR 494)

The field of entrepreneurship changes rapidly and successful entrepreneurs must continually stay abreast of current trends and developments. This course focuses on current issues of importance to those involved in innovation and entrepreneurship.
