AI in Action: Tools to Support Faculty

Description:
This hands-on workshop introduces faculty to AI-powered tools designed to support faculty in their work. Participants will see live demonstrations of practical use cases, learn how to apply recommendations from each tool, and have dedicated time to explore the tools firsthand with support from the Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) team. Whether you are brand new to AI or simply curious about how it can fit into your work, this workshop offers a guided, low-pressure space to discover how these tools can save time and enhance the support you provide to students.

Outcomes:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
  1. Identify AI tools available to support faculty work.
  2. Describe practical use cases for each AI tool within their faculty role.
  3. Apply prompting strategies to generate useful, relevant outputs.
  4. Evaluate AI-generated recommendations and determine how to responsibly incorporate them into their practice.
