Schedule & Session Descriptions

9:00-9:40 Using Co-Pilot + Developing AI criteria for your syllabus (Eric Bucher, CTE Faculty Director and Sheri Thomas)

In this session we will explore using Co-Pilot in Teams and a hands on approach for developing AI use policies for your syllabus. We will focus on the “stop light” method of creating guidelines for which assignments students can and cannot utilize generative AI technologies. We will also look at how to develop appropriate assignments in light of the impact AI has had on our students. This will be a workshop model where we will hopefully all leave with something concrete. No experience necessary.

We will explore tactics and strategies for building impactful lasting relationships between faculty and students, as well as student-to-student relationships. Faculty will reflect on initial steps that can be taken to turn their classroom into a welcoming, inclusive community which gives every student the opportunity to succeed. This workshop is a great starting point for anyone involved in, or interested in, taking part in the Persistence Project.
