9:00 – 9:40 Title: Relationship Rich Classroom
Presenter(s): Eric Bucher and Jeremy Steeves
Description: Human relationships are the engine that drives our classrooms. But creating these relationships is challenging. We will explore tactics and strategies for building impactful lasting relationships between faculty and students, as well as student-to-student relationships. Faculty will reflect on initial steps that can be taken to turn their classroom into a welcoming, inclusive community which gives every student the opportunity to succeed. This workshop is a great starting point for anyone involved in, or interested in, taking part in the Persistence Project.

10:40 – 11:20 Title: AI Pedagogy - Creating Custom Syllabus Bots for Your Course
Presenter(s): Eric Bucher
Description: In this session, participants will explore how generative artificial intelligence can be leveraged to enhance teaching and learning through the creation of custom syllabus bots. Designed to support students outside of class time, syllabus bots can answer common course questions, clarify policies, and guide students to key resources using instructor-defined content and parameters. Faculty will leave with a clearer understanding of how AI tools can support transparency, student engagement, and instructional efficiency while maintaining academic integrity and instructor control.

1:10 – 1:50 Title: Introduction to the Library’s New Search and Discovery Experience
Presenter(s): Christine Mueller and Sydney Sparks
Description: The University Library system changed to a new state-wide platform in June 2025. This impacted all online interactions with the library, including searching for and accessing resources, placing holds and checking out materials, and requesting items from OhioLINK and inter-library loan. Come see how the new search interface, a replacement for Search@XU called AllForOne, works, including using profiles and filters to refine searching and find materials. Learn how to view holds, renew items, and see course reserves. There will be plenty of time for questions.
